About Nebraska Phone Directory

Nebraska publishes its phone numbers office by office, not in one book. State employees sit in one search tool. School staff sit in another. Counties, courts, libraries, university campuses, and public power districts each post their own contact pages, and the answers about area codes come from a federal numbering administrator and the state utility regulator. Most people open several sites before they land on one number. We gathered the starting points so the search begins in the right place.

Why We Built This Site

Nobody in Nebraska ever put all the numbers in one place. The closest thing is the Nebraska State Directory at ne-directory.ne.gov, and it only covers state employees. You can search it by first name, last name, phone number, agency, or division. When you know the office but not the person, the all-agencies page on Nebraska.gov does that job instead. Schools work differently again. The Department of Education runs an education directory search that took over after the printed Nebraska Education Directory, which had been coming out since 1892, was discontinued.

Below the state level it fragments further. Each University of Nebraska campus posts its own staff directory. The Nebraska Library Commission keeps a searchable directory of libraries. All 93 counties run their own courthouse phone pages, and the Judicial Branch posts separate district court and county court contact directories. Public power districts and Black Hills Energy keep outage lines apart from billing lines. Questions about 402, 531, and 308 land with NANPA and the Nebraska Public Service Commission. We gather the entry points to all of it.

  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, area code, or directory link on this site is current right now
